We do not pretend to have all the answers, but we do have the commitment to be an innovative and human company where team members feel that they're not only working and fulfilling the responsibilities of their role, but are also developing new skills, learning new tools, acquiring new competencies and building a strong career for themselves, either to continue working at Trio or soaring on new flights.
To make sure we bring those values to the daily activities we use some management and development tools. Let's talk a bit about each of them, shall we?
For Trio, giving effective feedback is a powerful tool for development, supporting growth, and enhancing performance. Also demonstrates respect and builds trust with the team member and the leader.
But is not only important to know how to provide feedback, but we also should also learn how to receive feedback effectively, which means listening and being open to the input as a learning opportunity, and not taking offense.
We as Trioneers are learning how to use this important tool tool of growth in the best way possible and enhance this culture of feedback and alignment that we value so much.
When we talk about constructive feedback we are talking about feedback where the input is focused on driving change or improvement. On the other hand, when we say positive feedback we talk when we provide encouragement and reinforcement of good performance.
Here are some characteristics of effective and ineffective feedback 👇
| Effective Feedback | Ineffective Feedback |
|---|---|
| Clear | Unclear |
| Relevant | Generic |
| Timely | Condescending |
| Specific | Blaming/Shaming |
| Honest | Related to personality |
| Related to observable behavior (not hearsay) | Past timeline |

The 1:1's are nothing more than meetings between the direct manager and team member to discuss various topics, which can IDP, career, feelings, personal life, behavior, alignment of goals and results, work planning, alignment of expectations, organizational culture, feedback, and relationships, among other options. It is very important to us that the Trioneer feels accompanied and under development throughout the journey at Trio.
As a team member, you'll find that at Trio we value immensely our 1:1 meetings. They are perhaps the most crucial engagements you'll have with our team. These meetings offer you a dedicated space to openly discuss your work, progress, and any challenges you might be encountering in a confidential and focused environment. They're not just about you talking, though; they're also an opportunity for our managers to better understand your unique strengths, areas where you might need support, and your career goals. This dialogue helps us build stronger bonds and trust within the team.
Moreover, our 1:1 meetings serve as a platform to chat about your performance and chart your career development journey, ultimately boosting your engagement and commitment to our collective success. And let's not forget, these regular check-ins are our radar to catch and resolve issues early on, preventing them from growing into bigger headaches. So, consider these meetings your dedicated time to shine, share, and shape your journey with us! 🚀🗣️🤝
